Energy Education Foundation Launches EnergyXP
Next generation mobile experience encourages students to explore real-world energy concepts and careers
HOUSTON (July 29, 2025) - The Energy Education Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating the next generation of energy professionals, is pleased to announce EnergyXP, an innovative, traveling STEM education platform designed to inspire middle school students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Starting in fall 2025, EnergyXP will begin visiting schools across the country.
"EnergyXP marks the most recent development in our educational initiatives. We aim to inspire students nationwide to explore real-world energy concepts and careers," said Kristen Barley, Executive Director of the Energy Education Foundation. "Our collaborative approach involves strong partnerships with educators, industry experts and local organizations to ensure that our programs are responsive to community needs. By prioritizing equitable access to quality STEM education, we can help build a more inclusive, future-ready energy workforce."
For more than 20 years, the Energy Education Foundation has empowered students through hands-on STEM experiences, early exposure to oil and gas concepts and career path exploration. The new EnergyXP program builds on the success of the nonprofit's former Mobile Energy Learning Units, offering a fully redesigned, interactive educational experience for middle school students. With upgraded technology, an enhanced curriculum and integrated app-based learning, EnergyXP reflects the latest advancements in energy technology and teaching methods, delivering a more impactful and relevant learning experience for students.
EnergyXP provides students with the opportunity to engage in 16 hands-on and digital STEM activities that are aligned with national education standards. These interactive experiences introduce a wide range of energy concepts while fostering curiosity, collaboration and critical thinking. Each activity connects learning to real-world applications in energy science. This innovative program is designed to strengthen foundational STEM skills and inspire the next generation of energy professionals by showcasing the relevance of energy in everyday life.
